Can Hughes Hold on to the Championship?
It’s championship decider week and Hughes has mixed feelings about this weekend at Pembrey circuit. Hughes is leading the championship sat 41 points ahead of Damien Harrington with 3 races to go.
Hughes mentioned: “Every race season has it’s fair share bit of luck, both good and not so good. I’m hoping that my season has eaten it’s bit of bad luck and that this weekend runs as smoothly as possible. The mechanics have done a fantastic job of preparing the car so I’m continuing my outlook of being consistent.”
Speaking about luck, Alice didn’t have the best of luck at the last round of the Mighty Mini Championship which took place at Cadwell Park. In race 1, the radiator cap came off – drenching her front passenger side tyre in boiling water. This resulted in Hughes losing traction heading into the infamous Hall Bends. To top it off, she then went on to sprain her ankle, stepping off the fence when looking over it to see if there was any damage.
Alice said: “I’m just going to treat it as any other race. We’ve shown great pace all season, picking up 7 podiums and 4 fastest laps. I’m super excited to see how the championship plans out as it’s been a great season racing against highly competitive drivers.”
